Day 4 - Flight to Maui, Iao Needle, and Settling in

On Saturday, we caught a quick flight from Honolulu to Maui.

We had a bit before we could check-in, so we took a detour to visit the Iao Needle / Park that is in the smaller of the two mountains/volcanos on Maui. It was a bit drizzly, but still cool landscaping and plants.

Then we took a drive around the island to our condo, where we were able to check-in a little early. So we took some time to unpack and settle in a bit. A little bit of exploring, but tomorrow is another early morning, so another early bedtime!

Day 3 - Diamondhead Hike

On Friday, we had a quick orientation breakfast and then we decided to take a taxi to Diamondhead and hike up it.

It was quite a climb, but the view was pretty cool!

We even saw Waikiki Beach and the area of Honolulu where we are staying!

Afterwards, we relaxed a bit and enjoyed a gorgeous sunset!

We missed out on some fireworks (behind a different hotel), but early to bed again for tomorrow!

Day 2 - Pearl Harbor

So on Day 2, we got up early to go on a tour to Pearl Harbor and a drive through of Punchbowl Cemetery and Historic Honolulu.

The Pearl Harbor Memorial included a boat ride out into the harbor around the Arizona Memorial (closed temporarily) and exploring the WW2 era battleship USS Missouri.

Then a driving tour of Punchbowl Cemetery and some historic sites in Honolulu.

The rest of the day was spent exploring Waikiki Beach, so pretty!

Day 1 -Getting to Hawaii and Being Exhausted

We got to Hawaii!! Wednesday was an early morning for a quick flight to Chicago, a short layover and then onto another plane... A huge one!

We had middle seats, so it was a very long flight with no view. Not too bad though. I mean, we landed in Hawaii!! Honolulu to be specific! We were immediately leied with gorgeous, fresh flower leis courtesy of the vacation planning company we used.

A shuttle to our hotel and eventually we got a nice room with a view! And we caught the sunset on the way back from dinner!

Early bedtime since we're exhausted and have an early morning!
